Clifton High School Senior Aidan Reilly Achieves Eagle Scout Rank
Clifton, NJ — Aidan Reilly, a senior at Clifton High School, has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest distinction in Scouting. This honor is the culmination of years of service, leadership, and personal growth.
Aidan’s Scouting journey began in kindergarten as a Cub Scout. Over the years, he advanced through Webelos and into Boy Scouts, inspired by his father and brother, both Eagle Scouts. “From wearing the Boy Scout uniform to camping trips and hikes, I found my footing and stayed committed to achieving my dream of becoming an Eagle Scout,” Aidan shared.
For his Eagle Scout project, Aidan addressed food insecurity in Clifton by planning and constructing two food pantries and a pet food pantry. The pantries at City Hall and Jubilee Park provide essential resources for those in need. “Food insecurity is a reality,” Aidan explained. “I wanted my project to make a positive impact on the community.”
Balancing the project with a full schedule of academics, Scouting, and extracurricular activities was no small feat. Aidan credits his father for mentoring him through the process and his fellow Scouts for assisting with construction. “This project taught me the importance of teamwork, planning, and resilience,” Aidan said.
In addition to his Scouting achievements, Aidan is an active leader and student at Clifton High School. He is a Rank Sergeant in the Mustang Marching Band and a member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the New Jersey Symphony Youth Orchestra. Along with participating in the school’s Wind Ensemble, Pit Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra, Aidan is an altar server at St. Andrew’s Church.
Teachers and mentors speak highly of Aidan’s work ethic and character. Clifton High School’s Tri-M Advisor Jennifer Liddle said, “Aidan is not only a talented musician but also a hardworking leader. His ideas and dedication have brought new energy to our chapter. I’m so proud of his achievement.”
Bryan Stepneski, Director of the Mustang Marching Band, echoed these sentiments. “Aidan’s positive attitude and leadership make him a vital part of our program. He is a role model for his peers, and we are proud of him for earning the rank of Eagle Scout.”
John O’Reilly, Aidan’s AP Psychology teacher, shared, “Aidan is one of the most hardworking, responsible, and compassionate students I’ve ever taught. He balances his many obligations with maturity and grace, always striving to make his community a better place.”
Dr. Robertozzi, Superintendent of Clifton Public Schools, said, “Aidan exemplifies the values of leadership, integrity, and service that we aim to instill in all our students. His achievement as an Eagle Scout reflects his dedication to his community and his remarkable ability to balance academics, extracurriculars, and civic engagement. We are immensely proud of Aidan and excited to see what the future holds for him.”
Aidan credits Scouting with instilling the values he lives by, including those of the Scout Law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. “Scouting has taught me to be a positive role model and to help those in need,” Aidan said.
Looking ahead, Aidan plans to study psychology and pursue a career as a counselor or therapist. His AP Psychology class inspired him, and he hopes to help others navigate challenges and find success.
Aidan’s advice to younger Scouts is straightforward: “Never give up, and don’t hesitate to ask for help. Parents and Scout leaders can provide insight and support that will help you achieve your goals.”
Aidan’s achievement as an Eagle Scout is a source of pride for his family, school, and the entire Clifton community. His dedication, leadership, and compassion are a testament to his character and bright future.
